The 86th Academy Awards held on sunday night where the she took the award for Best Supporting Actress.
The movie she starred in "12 Years a Slave" was also awarded for Best Picture.
She was so emotional with her speech that her voice cracked as she spoke.
"It doesn't escape me for one moment that so much joy in my life is because of so much pain in someone else's," she said.
